What you’ll do
Pathlabs’ Accountant II is a position requiring attention to detail and the ability to be proactive and analytical - a person who can work autonomously and collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands and possesses strong communication skills. The Accountant II is primarily responsible for performing daily business activities and reporting related to payments, cash management, billing, and collections, including heavy involvement in the monthly invoicing and revenue reconciliations process. The Accountant II reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, activities related to month-end/quarter close, financial reporting, managing day-to-day financial operations, and other special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Accountant and finance team with the monthly invoicing process, including timely preparation of invoices, related journal entries and reconciliations, and complete and accurate supporting documentation. Help drive the customer collections process for all customers, ensuring timely receipt of payments, adherence to credit limits, and necessary communication both internally and externally
- Perform month-end closing activities and reconciliations for various accounts/processes. Areas of focus may include but would not be limited to accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, rebate payables, compensation and commission accruals, credit card expense reconciliations, and reporting
- Work alongside the finance team to prepare journal entries and reconcile account balances, ensuring to maintain accurate supporting records and documentation
- Assist with monthly/quarterly/annual balance sheet and P&L analysis
- Support the Finance team with compliance and audit procedures as necessary
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to evolving demands and priorities related to the integration of accounting systems and processes with the MiQ global finance team.
- Assist with other duties as deemed necessary for this position
What you will bring
- You have 3+ years of relevant experience
- Technical accounting background and understanding of US GAAP concepts
- You have a high sense of responsibility to get things across the finish line
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA Certification a plus
- Professional persona and attitude
- Strong communicator - both written and verbal
- Proficiency in G-Suite. Candidates must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Experience in WorkDay, QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in the advertising industry is a plus
